Mavericks Senior Cole Truglio
- Updated: July 26, 2024
Cole Truglio- #6
Cole Truglio is in his third year with the Mavericks, and has served one year on each of the three squads. The six-foot one-inch senior is undecided on his plans following this summer with Missoula, but has received interest from multiple college programs across the pacific northwest. Truglio was born and grew up in Ellensburg, Washington where he attended Ellensburg High School before moving to Missoula, and graduating from Missoula Sentinel. He played for the Ellensburg Blues for three years with his father coaching, before he shifted into his first competitive experience with the O-Town Bombers located in Othello, Washington. He played for one season with Othello, getting the opportunity to compete in the Big League Dreams stadium in Las Vegas. From there, he transitioned into one of the most competitive Pacific Northwest programs with New Level Baseball, where he played two years of high level baseball featuring teams from Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Arizona.
Truglio has earned the primary closer role in his senior season with the Mavs, where he has finished over 12 games, recorded over 30 innings pitched, and has worked a 2.59 ERA. He has a 1.47 strikeouts per walk, and has obtained a 1.438 WHIP. “This program has given me the opportunity to continue playing, and the tools necessary to get better,” said Truglio. His favorite memory with the Mavericks is the trip to Rapid City, and getting the opportunity to pitch in front of a packed stadium in the firecracker game. Truglio would like to thank his dad for everything that he has done. “He is my biggest supporter and my first coach,” said Truglio. “Nothing I do today would be possible without him and his support.”
