Senior Night Luck For Hellgate Soccer

The final home game of the 2018 season for the Hellgate Knight soccer program was a chilly one Tuesday afternoon as the Knights hosted the Glacier Wolfpack and came away with the boys picking a 5-1 win, and the girls finished even with Glacier 0-0.

Game one was between the boys and Glacier held off the attack of the Kniights until the 28th minute when Hellgate found the back of the net. Despite the Wolfpack having a handful of good charges into the Hellgate end of the field, the Knight defense snuffed out the threat before it reached the box and turned the ball back up field. It would be a complete win for the Knights as they would out shot the Wolfpack and dominated the time of possession while thwarting any type of advance that Glacier made.

After a presentation honoring the Hellgate senior class the girls began play and from the start one could tell it was going to be a hard fought match with lots of action and limited goals. The girls battled in the middle of the field between the goal boxes with a grit that could not be matched by the boys. In the first half it was Glacier that pressed the ball into the Hellgate side of the field from the start, but the momentum swing into Hellgates favor towards the final third of the half. Both coaches made their adjustments at the half, but it was as though had countered each others changes perfectly and the game played out with out a goal.
