- In 1932 Charlie Conacher becomes the first Toronto Maple Leaf to score 5 goals in a game, with the first coming at 7 seconds in to the game.

- In 2000 Michael Jordan, who led the Chicago Bulls to 6 NBA championships as a player, returns to the NBA by joining the Washington Wizards as part owner and President of Basketball Operations.
