  • In 1930 German boxer Max Schmeling beats Jack Sharkey by disqualification in 4, first time world heavyweight title won on a foul

  • In 1919 US Open, Walter Hagen defeats Mike Brady by 1 stroke in an 18-hole playoff to win his second and final US Open

  • In  1948 80th Belmont: Eddie Arcaro wins aboard Citation to claim his second Triple Crown

NBA

  • In 1991 in the 45th NBA Championship, Chicago Bulls beat LA Lakers, 4 games to 1
