Loyola Tips Off New Year

The Loyola Rams and Breakers will tip of the 2018 portion of their season tonight against the Thompson Falls Blue Hawks with the Rams on the road and the Breakers playing host.

The Breakers finished their December play with a 3-2 record under a new head coach. Loyola opened against a tough Class A team in the Corvallis Lady Blue Devils and lead for most of the game, but size took over and Corvallis pulled out the win. The Breakers went on a three game win streak beating Shepherd and Cut Bank at the Shelby Tournament, and Powell County at home. Their final game of 2017 was a tough lose against a very skilled rival in the Florence Lady Falcons.

The Breakers will open up their 2018 season at home against the Thompson Falls Lady Blue Haws tonight at 5:30 at the Ram Athletic Center.

Finishing out 2017 the Rams would fall to conference rival Florence Falcons to finish December with a 3-3 record. The Rams started December down David Koppang, and when David returned to play they would miss their post presence Joey McElroy for a few games. Now that the Rams have all their pieces in place they should roll through the regular season and have a strong seed going into the postseason.

The Rams will hop on the bus this afternoon and brave the roads to take on the Thompson Falls Blue Hawks in Thompson Falls with the opening tip set for 7:00.
