The Griz continued to pour on the pressure and scored five goals in the second quarter to take an 8-4 lead at the break.
Gonzaga came out with a renewed vigor to start the third quarter and rattled off three quick goals, putting Montana on its heals for the first time in the game. The Bulldogs found themselves in scoring position again mid way through the third frame when they slipped a fourth goal past Andrew Moesel and suddenly the game was tied. Griz Head Coach Tucker Sargent called a time out to reset his squad, and Montana came out on the attack, finishing out the quarter with four goals and retaking the lead.
The Griz finished the game out continuing to put the pressure on Gonzaga, holding the Bulldogs to two goals in the fourth quarter. Montana keeper Andrew Moesel allowed 10 goals off 16 shoots, while on the offensive side attack man James Pierce lead Montana with four goals and five assists. Mid fielders Trent Tubbs and Hayden Smith scored themselves each a hat trick with three goals a piece.
