Coming off a pair of loses to the Florence Falcons on Tuesday night, the Loyola Breakers hopped on the bus and headed north to take on Thompson Falls and took down the Blue Hawks in five innings.

Loyola jumped out ealy offensively earning a run the opening frame, and then kept a steady stream of runs coming in for the remainder of the game. Breaker first baseman Molly Miltko lead all batters going 3-4 from the dish while earning five RBI’s, and Helle Badaruddin chipped in going 2-2 from the plate with a run, 2 RBI’s, and was walked once on the game.

The true story came from within the pitcher circle on the arm of Kayla Hickethier who stone walled the Blue Hawks, only allowing a single hit and struck out 10 batters in the 70 pitches she threw in the five innings she stood in the pitchers circle to seal the win for Loyola. In the field it was second baseman Molly McHugh who had the golden glove with two putouts in the three chances she had, and she scored the only assist for Loyola.

Loyola will enjoy the weekend before taking on the Hamilton Broncs in Hamilton on Monday.
