The Missoula Mavericks and the Billings Scarlets lined up against each other for the second day of their four game stand and the two teams finished the day even on the weekend.

In the first game the Scarlets picked up where they left off Saturday night earning runs in the opening two frames, but the Mavericks held off the Scarlets for the next three innings. Missoula did not throw runs up on the scoreboard until the third when they took the lead and held it for a couple frames. Luck would be on Billings’ side late in the game as they would go on a run spree to tie the game up at the end of seven innings. Going into bonus baseball the Scarlets lit their bats up one more time and earned runs in the eighth to sneak by the Mavericks and claim back to back wins.

With a brief break between games the Mavericks regrouped and only allowed a single run in the opening frame, and held the Scarlets off in the second inning for the first time since game one on Saturday night. Missoula struggled from at the plate in the second and third innings, but found their grove late to finish the game out with at least two runs in the final three innings. Tradd Richardson climbed the mound to close out the game for Missoula only allow one run and sealed the victory.

The Mavericks will take to the road this week, going to Helena on Wednesday night, and Billings over the weekend.
