Idaho Racers/Gray 11
MT Avalanche White 18U 3
It was a big fourth inning for Idaho that got things going as they would earn four runs to take a 4-1 lead over the Avalanche, and the Racers/Gray kept the heat on from there. Montana would swing back with a run in the bottom of the second to pull within two, and added their final run in the bottom of the fourth to make it 7-3 after four innings of play, but Idaho’s lead would be defended with stiff defense for the remainder of the game. The Racers/Gray put an exclamation point on the game in the top of the sixth when they earned four runs to seal the win over the Avalanche.
MT Avalanche Ries 14U 7
Bozeman Stealers 14U 7
Two well coached teams met on the softball diamond in Bozeman Saturday afternoon and after five innings of play the Ries and the Stealers would finish in a tie. Both teams would throw a pair of pitchers at each other, with the Ries’s Marin Snyder going two thirds of an inning longer than Bozeman’s Shannon N., with Shannon leading the two starters with one run off three hits, and struck out one batter. Bozeman earned their runs in the third and four innings, while the Avalanche stayed consistant with a run in the first, third, and fourth innings, and four in the fifth inning.
MT Avalanche White 18U 3
NW Sidewinder/Eng 5
Stellar pitching was the game plan for the Sidewinders/Eng in their win over the White on Saturday as Jane stood tall on the mound for NW. She would allow three runs off four hit, two of which where earned, stuck out one and waled two batters in the 63 pitches she tossed at the Avalanche. Amber Countryman had the most success for the White as she would go 1-2 with a run and an RBI, and Britt Tierney went 1-3 with a run, and the White as a team went 4-19 from the plate .
MT Avalanche White 18U 7
USA Explosion-Richards 12
Things looked positive for the Avalanche in the opening frame as they would earn a pair of runs, but the Explosion swung back with five runs of their own in the bottom of the first to find the White down and the Explosion kept players in motion on the bases earning three more runs in the second inning. The Avalanche kept swinging their bats and found pay dirt in the third with three runs, and chipped away at the Explosions lead with a run in the fourth and fifth, but the Gold’s offensive muscle was to much for the White.
MT Avalanche 14U 16
Helena Bench Dog Bombers 0
The Ries packed all their runs into to two innings with the third being the biggest as the Avalanche poured on 10 runs to take a commanding lead, and then ran away with the lead throwing another six runs up on the scoreboard in the fourth. For the Avalanche it would be solid work from the pitchers circle as Kendra Jacobs stone walled the Bombers not allowing a run off the single hit she allowed while striking out six batters in the three innings she pitched, throwing a total of 41 pitches at the Bench Dog’s. Haley Wolsky was the offensive player of the game going 1-2 with a run and three RBI’s, and was walked once, while Ryann Shrouds chimed in going 1-1 with a run and a pair of RBI’s, and reached off a walk.
