Mavs Double Down In The Win Column To Finish Tournament

The Missoula Mavericks American Legion Baseball team finished off the 2018 Missoula Mavericks Memorial Tournament with a pair of wins over Lewis & Clark Twins and Spokane Expos

In the first game of the day for the Mavs Missoula picked up a 12-4 win over the Lewis & Clark Twins. The first inning is was the money inning for Missoula as they would pin up six runs to start the game. The Twins earned their first run in the bottom of the second inning, and finished their day with their final three runs coming in the fourth inning. Kaden Heidrick stood on the mound for the Mavericks and the young gun would earn the win off cut throat pitching and stout infield play behind him. Brendon Hill and Sam Bucy of the Mavs led all batters with Hill going 2-3 with three runs and an RBI, and Bucy going 3-4 with two runs and an RBI.

The second game was close between the final two undefeated teams in the tournament as Missoula edged off the Spokane Expos with a 3-1 win. The Mavs went to work with a pair of runs in the second inning, and the Expos battled back in the third with a run to make it 2-1. Missoula stretched out their lead after Kaden Heiderick brought Dane Fraser home off a sac fly after Fraseer reached third off a triple. Reilly Vetos earned the win from the mound while Dylan Chalmers picked up the save for the Mavericks to give them a perfect 3-0 record on the weekend.
