Hard Hats Out Run The Mavericks In Five

Replay

The Missoula Mavericks started out their 2018 Camping World Firecracker Tournament against the host team Rapid City Hard Hats, and Mavericks would fall in the fifth inning due to the 15 run rule.

Missoula started out the game with Kaden Heidrick on the mound and the young gunslinger handled the game well through the first few innings. Hydro took his time on the bump and was a methodical in his deliver to ensure his best performance making his checks before each pitch. The youngest pitcher on the Maverick staff worked his way out of a jam in the second inning with bases loaded, and had an uneventful third inning, but things went a rye in the fourth inning when Rapid City earned themselves five runs.

Maverick skipper Brent Hathaway had seen enough from his pitcher and brought in the lefty Connor Daniels in hopes of slowing down the Hard Hats. Rapid City picked up where they left off and continued slapping runs up on the board to a count of ten in the fifth inning. Due to the 15 run that starts in the fifth inning the Hard Hats walked off with the win over the Mavericks.
