Marching towards a possible history breaking forth title the Hellgate Knights boys basketball team etched a mark in the win column Thursday beating the Helena Bengals 7-2.
Things looked one sided right out of the gate when the Knights scored two goals in the first seven minutes of the game to lead 2-0. In the 16th minute Helena junior Caven Wade beat Hellgate keeper Brendan Oberg with a chip over the goalies head from just out side the box to make it 2-1 Knights. In true Hellgate soccer fashion the Knights to the kick off and marched down the field to get the point back on a goal and Hellgate made it a two point game once again.
With a two point lead to start the second half the Knights went back to work and in the 38th minute Hellgate put the ball in the back of the net, the first of four goals scored by the Knights in the second half of the game. The final goal came on a set piece on a corner kick where Hellgate defense man Abe Johnson headed the ball in inside the two minute runoff. Hellagte was led by their senior forward Matt Baldridge who scored three goal, and had an assist, while Beckett Arthur pitched in with a pair off goals.
The Knights will travel to Helena on Saturday to play the Capital Bruins.
