Mavericks Improve Conference Record

The Billings Scarlets would come to the Garden City Tuesday night to play the Missoula Mavericks in a conference doubleheader and head home with a pair of losses.
In game one the Mavericks would get a 3-1 win by jumping out to an early lead with a pair of runs in the opening inning. The Scarlets would get a run in third to pull closer to Missoula, but in the bottom of the sixth the Mavericks would add a run to seal the deal. Nick Yovetich would get the win from the mound, standing tall and pitching the full seven innings and only allowing a single run.
In game two Coach Hathaway would put the ball in the capable hands of Dylan Barkley and the veteran pitcher would pitch a perfect seven innings to give the Mavericks a 6-0 win. It would be a pair of fruitful mid game innings that would help the Mavs get the win with two runs runs in the third, and then upping the ante in the fourth with four runs.
The Maverick will host their annual Memorial Tournament where they will honor Missoula Mavericks who are no longer with us.
