Big Sky Winter Sports Preview

Swimming

In the 2017-2018 season as a team the Eagle boys finished the season in 11th place in Class AA swimming while the girls ended the season matching their counter parts with an 11th place finish as a team. With a strong underclass group in both boys and girls swimming Big Sky is posed to make a statement in the 2018-2019 season by leaning on the experience they gained throughout the previous seasons campaign.

Wrestling

The Big Sky wrestling program fought hard through the 2017-2018 season culminating in a ninth place finish as a team. The Eagles were able to put wrestlers in the top six at the state tournament brawl in a variety of categories last season, but will need to depend on the youth of the up coming program to push themselves further up the Class AA wrestling ladder. Expect the Big Sky wrestling program to take the lessons they learned last season and apply them in the 2018-2019 season in order to be a contender at the end of the season.

Girls Basketball

For the second season in a row the Lady Eagle basketball team found themselves on the outside looking in on the Class AA girls basketball state tournament in 2017-2018 with a heartbreaking loss in the divisional tournament in Helena. In her third season at the helm of the girls basketball program at Big Sky coach Anderson has installed the foundation of a successful basketball program with a talented group of players ready to take Class AA girls basketball by storm.

Boys Basketball

A new face will be seen on the bench of the Eagle basketball team since Big Sky made a change at the head coach spot. Over the past several seasons the Eagles have had the talent on the floor to come away with the wins but have not been able to put the skill together. With a new head coach and a youthful line up to push the ball in order to play their game the Eagles have the formula to start the a climb up the ranks in Class AA boys basketball in Montana.
