Flathead vs Big Sky Preview

January first marks the start of the conference schedule for the prep basketball season for all MHSA classes and Thursday night will have two Class AA Western Conference schools that are on opposite ends of the conference battling on the hardwood.

Ladies First…

The Lady Eagles spunky sophomore Corbyn Sandau has led Big Sky in scoring in the December portion of the season, while the Lady Eagles will lean on the leadership of senior Chasity Foote to get a gripe on the conference. On the opposite of the scorers table is the Flathead Bravettes who have been steadily progressing each of the past seasons that has allowed their girls to thrive in 2018-2019 season, only having two loses on the season.

This game features a team looking to make name in Class AA girls basketball, and a team looking to prove they are as good as their record says they are. Look for this game to be a scrape from the tip with a pair of teams who know each other well. Tip off from Big Sky is at 7:15 pm Thursday night.

And Now The Boys…

In Kalispell Thursday night the Big Sky boys will look to put up their first win of 2019 among a group who are playing well through the middle of the game, but are working on coming together as a team to close out close games. Flathead is a team that is working with a young squad of players who have an abundance of talent that has led them to victories in 2018-2019 season.

For the boys game it will be a game of stiff defense that will result in multiple fast break chances for both teams. Things tip off from Flathead high school at 7:15 pm Thursday night.
