Two Eagle River vs Eagles
It was the boys that took to the floor first in a game where the pace was set a full speed with the boys running from the jump. Shots went down back and forth until just past the mid way point of the first quarter when Valley Christian stepped away to take the lead. Valley Christian took the opening quarter 17-9, but Two Eagle River would charge back in the second quarter to out shoot the Eagles 14-12.
With Valley Christian out in front of Two Eagle River to start the third quarter by six the two teams settled into their half time adjustments and it became a defensive game with neither team scoring until the 4:51 mark when Valley Christians Cameron Fritz knocked down a jumper. It was a freshman that came off the bench to seal the game for Valley Christian as Eyan Becker checked into the contest and scored six points in the final frame.
Two Eagle River vs Lady Eagles
After the girls had watched the boys score a win over Two Eagle River the Valley Christian girls took to the hardwood and set to earn a win of their own. Everyone came out slow as the two teams worked to find the bottom of the bucket. Valley Christian found a rhythm in the second quarter as Morgan Brewer and Kaitlin Kelly combined for 12 of the Lady Eagles 18 points scored in the quarter.
Down by by 18 and their leader playing with four fouls the girls from Two Eagle River began to the task of chipping away at the Valley Christians lead but Coach Reimer had made his adjustments at the break and Valley Christian stretched out their lead. In the final frame Valley Christian put the brakes on any type of rally by Two Eagle River, holding them to two points on the quarter, securing the victory for Valley Christian.
