Legendary Hellgate Coach To Enter NHSA Coaches Association Hall of Fame

Nine months after officially retiring as a coach at Hellgae high school Ron Jones will be honored as he will be inducted into the National High School Athletic Coaches Association’s Hall of Fame.

Jones spent a total of 53 years coaching at Hellgate in football, cross country, wrestling, and track and field with his track teams winning three state championships, he coached 96 individual state champions, and nine All-Americans. As a runners coach Jones spent a combined 78 seasons of competition which has resulted in a case full of trophies.

The long time Knight’s coach was inducted into the Montana Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 2004. Jones will be joining 470 individuals from all 51 member state who already reside in the NHSA hall of fame which was founded in 1982. The ceremony is scheduled for June in Bismark North Dakota.
