The Missoula Junior Bruins Hockey team went on the road over the weekend and picked a pair of wins over the Yellowstone Quake that helped in their chase of the Gillette Wild.
Missoula was able to get past the Quake 9-4 on Friday, and then followed up with a 7-5 victory on Saturday to complete the road trip sweep. The Bruins site in the fifth place spot of the seven team Frontier Division of the NA3HL hockey league with a 20-17 record. One spot and one point ahead of the Bruins are the Wild who have played two less game than Missoula, but due to a combination of mathematical equations Gillette has a better spot in division rankings.
The number one spot in the Frontier Division is owned by the Great Falls Americans who have racked up 63 points in 39 games with a 31-7 overall record. Missoula has nine games remaining in their schedule with the regular season wrapping up the second week of March. The Bruins will be home this weekend as they host Gillette in a doubleheader that could propel Missoula past the Wild.
