Knights Blast Eagles To Complete Season Sweep

Crosstown week on the hardwood tipped off Tuesday night as the Hellgate Knights made their way across town to play the Big Sky Eagles to try to move a step closer to being named the city champions and the Knights came away with a commanding 80-31 win.

From the tip off the Knights were in control as they went on a run in the opening minutes to take a 6-0 lead before the Eagles were able to get on the board. Big Sky senior leader Camdyn LaRance kept the Eagles in the game as he would knock down a three pointer and a pair of free throws in the opening frame. After Big Sky put up 14 points in the opening quarter the Knights held the Eagles to five points in the second quarter.

Leading 49-19 to start the second half Hellgate went back to work defensively with a suffocating defense in the paint that forced the Eagles to put up low percentage shots on the perimeter. Hellgate senior Dylan Holst was lights out for the Knights as he would lead all scorers with 21 points, nine of which came from beyond the arc. With the clock running for most of the fourth quarter Hellgate head coach Jeff Hays put in his bench as the Knights would cruise to a win.
