Missoula prep sports has taken another hit this week due to the late snowfall causing field conditions through out the valley unsafe for athletes to participate on.
The Loyola Breakers softball team where scheduled to have their home opener Tuesday afternoon against the Florence Falcons. With the late winter dump of snow and below average temperatures the snow on the Breakers softball field has not melted off.
As with many of the other spring prep sports teams in Missoula, the Breakers have been stuck in the gym longer then normal, missing quality time on the diamond as the Loyola softball program starts its first season under their new head coach.
Tuesday’s game against Florence has been rescheduled for April 29th, and the Breakers will begin the 2019 season on Saturday on the road against Eureka.
