In a Class A match up on the hardwood Thursday night the Corvallis Blue Devils took on the Frenchtown Broncs in a boys power struggle that resulted in the Broncs earning 54-42 win.
It was Corvallis who jumped out early going on a 7-0 run in the first three minutes of the game, but once Frenchtown watched the ball drop through cylinder for the first time they took off at a full gallop. In fact the first quarter was the only quarter that Corvallis out scored Frenchtown as the Broncs finished in double digits in the remaining three quarters.
Coming off a 23 point second quarter and leading by seven to start the second half Frenchtown had the ball and went back to work moving the ball on the perimeter waiting for the high percentage shot while picking the Blue Devils pocket and playing menacing defense. Corvallis made a run in the fourth quarter scoring 12 points and forced Frenchtown to the free throw line. Cade Baker accepted the challenge and went 8-10 in the final frame from the charity stripe to score eight of Frenchtowns 13 points in the final quarter to seal the win.
