On a cloudy and windy Thursday afternoon two of Missoula’s prep lacrosse teams took to the pitch at Fort Missoula and Big Sky would come out on top 6-3 over Sentinel.
It took a moment for both teams to gather themselves as the first quarter came to a close with owning the scoreboard 1-0. When the second quarter rolled around things picked up with Sentinel going on the attack and finding the back of the net to make it 2-1 at the break.
Having made their half time adjustments both teams came out ready to run the third quarter with Big Sky stretching out their lead. Sentinel fought back late in the game, bit the Eagle offensive attack kept Big Sky in front of Sentinel and the Eagles soared to a victory.
Big Sky will head into their game next week against Hellgate with a 2-1 and one record and a chance to claim the city title. Big Sky senior John Bigart talks about the start to the season, “It feels pretty great despite a tough one against Glacier, but I think we can take Hellgate next week for a city title.”
