The Sentinel Spartans would host the Hellgate Knights in a crosstown match that would find the Hellgate boys earning their second crosstown win in the same week shutting out the Spartans 4-0. Coming off a dominate win over the Big Sky Eagles Tuesday night the Knights would come into the game riding a streak.
Hellgate would feel out their opponent in the opening minutes of the game, forcing a pair of corner kicks out of the gate. In the second corner kick the Knights would find the back of the net when Cole Hage scored off a header in the 33rd minute. Junior mid-fielder Matt Baldridge would join in on the scoring as he would score a goal in the 29th minute, and followed it with a second goal in the 21st minute of the first half.
The Knights lead 4-0 at the half time break and hold it through the second half. Hellgate played a controlled game in the second to maintain their score, allowing Sentinel get a couple shoots on goal. Both Hage and Baldridge would account for Hellgate’s scores as they would get a pair each.
With one week left in the regular season the Knights sit at the top off Class AA soccer and look to repeat as state champs.
