Hamilton High School would make their way up the Bitterroot Valley Thursday afternoon for a pair of soccer matches with Loyola Sacred Heart.
Game one would see the Lady Broncs and Breakers battling first. Both teams would play a heavy defensive game that did not see many shots on goal. Part of the way through the first the heavens would open and a combination of hail and rain would descend upon the Lady Broncs and Breakers. Not effected by the rain the two teams played through and finished the first half tied at zero.
The clouds broke and the sun would shine through as the second half whistle sounded the beginning of play. The second half would start as the first had been played with both teams making runs on the opposing goal only to be shut down by a stingy defense. With 16:39 left in the game Tessa Della Silva of the Hamilton Lady Broncs would get a ball in the back of the net and giving Hamilton a 1-0 lead. Hamilton would hold the lead until 45 seconds remained in the game when Loyola’s ace Tessa Burke would catch a volley off the top post and return it into the back of the net to tie the game at one. The clock would finish ticking out and the game would end in a 1-1 tie.
The Hamilton Broncs would defeat the Loyola Rams 5-1 in game two.
