After winning off a buzzer beater four point play to get into the divisional tournament on Monday the Florence Falcons would take on their conference rival Loyola Rams and Loyola would roll to 73-48 victory over Florence.
Things looked to go well for the Falcons from the beginning as the two teams would swap points to open up the game, but late in the first quarter the Rams began to find a rhythm and started to slip away from Florence. When in the second quarter came around Loyola clamped down on their defense to hold the Falcons to six points in the second frame.
Coming out of the half time break down by 20 Florence instituted a new game plan which allowed the Falcons to outscore Loyola 16-12 in the third quarter. Shaving points off the Loyola lead Florence tried to flex their muscle in the final quarter, but the Rams surged back and sealed the win for Loyola by outscoring the Falcons 21-12 to earn a trip to the first boys semi-final game Friday night.
The Falcons will play in the win or go home game at 11:20 am Friday morning against Thompson Falls while Loyola will take on Deer Lodge in the first boys semi-final game at 7:20 pm.
