The Big Sky Eagle soccer programs would head up the Rattlesnake Tuesday night to play the Hellgate Knights and the Big Sky boys were sent away shutout after 5-0 lose.
Hellgate would gain the advantage early putting the ball in the back of the net not once but twice in the first half to hold a 2-0 lead at the break. With 35:12 left in the game Hellgate team leader Cole Hage rattled off a shot in a fast break to put the Knights up 3-0. The Knight’s barrage would result in an another score as Nino Paoli scored from 22 yards out in the 27th minute, and the final point would come with just under six minutes when Hage would put the ball in the back of the net.
The Knights would display control throughout the game, choosing their attack and shots with patience. As a result of the dominating play of the Knight;s the Eagles were limited to single digit shot attempts, proving themselves as the leader in high school soccer at the Class AA level. With a limited amount of games left in the regular season the lose puts the Eagles in a tough spot while the Knight’s may be peaking at the right time.
