Lady Knights Buck The Lady Broncs

The Hellgate Knight girls basketball team hosted the Frenchtown Lady Broncs in a non conference match up at Hellgate Tuesday night and the Knights picked up a 38-31 win.

Tuesday nights game was a low scoring match between two teams that are finding their identity on the offensive end of the court. The Lady Broncs had not played with a full squad in the early part of the season, and the Lady Knights have been coming together as a team.

Frenchtown took the first quarter out scoring Hellgate 7-3, but the Lady Knights settled in the second quarter and turned the tables out scoring the Lady Broncs 8-4 to tie the game up at 11 at the half. Hellgate came out of the break riding the momentum they had from the second quarter and held Frenchtown to four points in the first five minutes of the third quarter, taking the quarter 16-6. The Lady Broncs made a come back in the fourth quarter, but the Lady Knights played stingy defense to hold off Frenchtown and secure the win.

Hellgate will take on the Sentinel Spartans Friday night in a crosstown doubleheader.
