After a week long tournament in Rapid City South Dakota the Missoula Mavericks hit the road on Sunday for a nine inning game in Sandpoint Idaho against the North Idaho Lakers and the Mavericks would shutout the Lakers in seven innings.

The Mavs kept their pitching staff loose as Sam Bucy, Reilly Vetos, and Thomas Martin all had a single inning on the hill in the first three innings, Kaden Heidrick pitched the fourth and fifth inning, while James Martin threw in the sixth, and Dylan Chalmers closed out the game for Missoula. James Martin, Vetos and Chalmers did not allow the Lakers a single hit, and Vetos and James Martin each walked a batter to put a runner on for North Idaho.

From the plate James Martin led all batters going 3-5 with two runs and a pair of RBI’s, while short stop Brendan Buchanan added to the Mavs line going 2-3 with a pair of runs, an RBI, and reached off a hit by pitch the last time he stood at the dish. Sam Bucy took to the bump in the first inning for MIssoula, and earned a run for the Mavericks in the second inning after hitting a well placed ball over the short stops head.

Missoula will dive back into conference play on Tuesday night with a road trip to Butte for a doubleheader against the Miners, first pitch on MPSN is at 5:00 pm.
