Prep Football Preview 9/19/19

Flathead @ Hellgate

Friday night’s game between Flathead and Hellgate is the Knight’s homecoming. Flathead has yet to pickup their first win of the season, while Hellgate has an impressive start. Watch for Flathead to try and establish their run game while trying to hold off a polished Hellgate offense. On the other side of the ball the Knights will continue to work the ball down the field on the edges through the pass game while the defense attempts to stack the box to suffocate the Braves ground attack. Expect the Knights to come out fast and finish strong for their third win of the season.

Manhattan @ Loyola

This match up at Rollin Field is going to be a juggernaut between two talented teams. Manhattan has a speedy offense with an aggressive defensive style, while the Rams are anchored by an experienced offensive line that has proven to control the line of scrimmage and a high motor defense back field that are ball hawks. Manhattan looks to make a statement by taking down one of the top five ranked Class B football teams in order help their postseason resume. Expect this game to be filled with highlight real type plays from the defenses with Loyola squeaking out a low scoring win.

Sentinel @ Capital

Vigilante Stadium will be the home of a game between two undefeated teams that will shuffle the scope in the Western AA football. Capital has a high flying offense that has been able to rack up points, but a defense that is struggling to keep with their offensive counterparts by allowing teams to stay in games. Sentinel’s offense features a one two punch at the quarterback and running back positions, while the Spartans defense has had a bend but don’t break mentality. At first glance this match up looks to be a high scoring shout out, but a deeper look revels a win through Sentinels defense.

Valley Christian @ Highwood

Class C football is full of parody and Friday night’s game is no different as a couple of banged up teams will play on the grid on. Both the Eagles and the Rivals play true iron football, with limited numbers who have to play every down. In a division that is anchored by the ground and pound style of play, this game will be determined by the play as they reestablish the line of scrimmage. Watch for Highwood’s experienced offensive line to control the box to put pressure on the Eagles defensive front seven. This will be a low scoring game that when the dust settles the Rivals will own the scoreboard.
