Prep Sports Spotlight 9/18/19
- Updated: September 18, 2019
For this weeks Prep Sports Spotlight we take a look at a match up between two teams that are among Class AA football's undefeated teams as the 3-0 Sentinel Spartans take a trip to Helena to take on the 3-0 Capital Bruins.
Sentinel makes the road trip to Helena led by a spunky quarterback in Dayton Bay and an electrifying runningback in Jaxon Lee. The one two punch from Sentinel on the grid iron has amazed football fans across the state and showing Class AA football enthusiasts they are contenders. Not to be out done by the offense, the Spartans defense has done their part by holding their opponents to an average of 9 points per game in the first three games played.
On the other side of the field the Capital Bruins have made a statement in Class AA football with impressive wins in the opening three games. Capitals offense has been able to rack up points against their opponents this season by an average of 30 points per game, but the defense has not played to the same level as the offense allowing other teams to average more then 28 points per game.
Under the lights in Helena, the match up between the Spartans and the Bruins will have plenty of jaw dropping plays form both teams offense, but it will be the defense that will be tested. Expect the Spartan defense to bend but not break in the red zone and hold off the Bruins. The challenge will lay with the Capital defense as the Bruin defense has let teams stay in the game, forcing Capitals offense to keep them ahead.
Kick off from Helena Friday night is at 7:00 pm and fans can hear the live audio stream by tuning into KCAP 94.9 at www.sports949.com.
