For the first game under the lights for the Mavericks in 2019 it would be a road trip loss after a big sixth inning for the Helena Senators that topped off the night for Missoula.

Helena opened the game with a run in their portion of the opening inning, but the Mavericks came back with two runs of their own in the top of the second inning. Coach Hathaway of the Mavericks stayed on his opening season two inning rotation for his pitchers with Kellen Feeley pitching in the first two innings.

Zach Hangas picked the pitching duties up in the bottom of the third, giving up a single run in the fourth to allow the Senators to tie the game up at two runs a piece. Connor Daniels took over on the mound in the fifth inning to hold off Helena, but would get roughed up in the sixth inning as the Senators would earn six runs to take the lead.

Missoula would get a run back in the seventh inning, but Helena’s sixth inning spree would be to much for the Mavericks to overcome and Helena would pick up a win.
