• In 1891 boxers Peter Jackson & Jim Corbett fight to a draw in 61 rounds

• In 1989 LPGA Championship Nancy Lopez wins her 3rd LPGA Championship by 3 strokes from Ayako Okamoto of Japan

• In 1904 Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) forms in Paris

NHL

• In 1981 in the Stanley Cup Final, NY Islanders win back-to-back titles, beat Minnesota North Stars 5-1 for 4 games to 1 series win
