Our past has shaped the present by many things in history including sports, here is how sports marked our history today.

Baseball

  • In 1851 the first baseball uniforms are worn, the New York Knickerbockers wore a straw hat, white shirt & blue long trousers.

Basketball

  • In 2018 Golden State Warrior guard Stephen Curry breaks Ray Allen’s NBA Finals record for most 3-pointers with 9 in the Warriors 19 point Game 2 win over Cleveland.

Boxing

  • In 1991 Thomas Hearns captures WBA light heavyweight title by handing Virgil Hill his first professional loss.

Golf

  • In 2012 Tiger Woods equals Jack Nicklaus’ record by claiming his 73rd PGA tour victory with a 2 stroke win over Andrés Romero & Rory Sabbatini in the Memorial Tournament at Muirfield Village GC.

Miscellaneous

  • In 2010 Canadian sportscaster Ron MacLean saves a man from drowning in the Delaware River in Philadelphia.
