Valley Christian To Host Iconic Game At Washington-Grizzly Stadium

As we work our way through the long days of summer it is not hard to push off the thoughts of the up coming school year, but one local school has been working to bring a first to the Missoula Valley in the fall of 2021.

Valley Christian announced today that their football program will host not only the first ever 6-Man football game to be played in Missoula, but the first 6-Man team to host a football game at Washington Grizzly Stadium. On Friday September 3rd the Valley Christian Eagles will take on Geraldine/Highwood, one the states most prestigious 6-Man football teams, under the lights of one of the most notorious stadiums in college football. Valley Christian Athletic Director Brian Becker has been hard at work putting this event together, “In our research in setting this up, it is the first 6-Man football game to ever be played in Missoula that we could find, what better to do it against such a storied team in a better place.”

With so many programs in Missoula playing so many games at one time, it is lost that for Valley Christian ever game is a road game as they play all their games in Superior due to not having a 6-Man football field available in Missoula, to say this is a historical event is to under bill it. Not to over shadow Valley Christian playing the first 6-Man game in Missoula is the fact that the game will be played at Washington Grizzly Stadium at time where other classes have had the chance to play at venues like Bobcat Stadium in Bozeman, and Washington Grizzly, giving 6-Man football the spot light it deserves. Eagle Coach Jim Cissell understands the meaning of the game for 6-Man football, ” Every player from 6-Man on up dream of playing at Washington Grizzly in Missoula or Cat Stadium in Bozeman. It is prayers sown and answered that allow VSC to be the first at Washington Grizzly.”

The Eagles are on the rise in 2021 with a strengthened roster of 33 players, up from 12 the previous season, which introduces the programs long time coming jv squad to help develop players to the varsity level. Due to a deeper roster Valley Christian will play a nine game season because they will have players in position to back up starters for the lengthened schedule.
