Montana Freshman Pitcher Michaela Hood picked up Big Sky Conference Pitcher of the Week honors for the second week in a row.
Michaela would earn the conference nod this week after her performance against Southern Utah where she would pitch two of the three games going 1-1, and finished with an ERA of 1.40. Hood would strikeout 16 batters in her 15 innings of play aiding Montana to a 2-1 record and improving the Lady Griz’s conference record to 4-2.
In Montana’s 14 game home stand Hood would go 7-1 and dropped her season ERA from 3.39 to 2.23, second in the Big Sky to North Dakota’s Kaylin VanDomelan who has a season ERA of 2.22. Michaela’s nine wins on the season have ranked second in the conference and her 91 strikeouts on the season has her tied for second in the Big Sky Conference.
Hood and the Lady Griz will travel to California this weekend to play the team with the best ERA in the Big Sky, Sacramento State. Things will getting going with a doubleheader on Saturday at 1:00 pm, and the three game road trip will finish on Sunday.
