Our past has shaped the present by many things in history including sports, here is how sports marked our history today.

Baseball

  • In 1954 Yogi Berra plays his only game at 3rd and Mickey Mantle plays shortstop.

Basketball

  • In 1973 Wilt Chamberlain signs with ABA San Diego Conquistadors.

Football

  • In 1977 the Cleveland Browns play their first overtime game, beat Patriots 30-27.

Golf

  • In 1925 at the men’s PGA Championship defending champion Walter Hagen defeats Bill Mehlhorn, 6 & 5 in the final. It’s his third PGA crown overall, and 7th of his 11 major titles.
