Battle For Zootown

Tonight three Missoula high schools will meet on the wrestling mat to battle for city bragging rights as Big Sky, Hellgate, and Sentinel will participate in the Garden City Classic.

The 2019 Garden City Classic could be the time for Big Sky to take back all city bragging rights on the wrestling mat. With a strong group of wrestlers the Eagles have been showing the rest of Montana Class AA wrestling that they are a team to be reckoned with. Big Sky has been trending up in the past few seasons, but their time on the mat in 2019 has displayed their true ability to over power their opponents.

For the athletes wearing the scarlet and gold of the Hellgate Knights it has been another productive season of moving forward in building the program. Steaming forward taking the season one match at a time Hellgate, the Knights have the ability to wrestle competitively against their city counterparts.

In the recent past it has been an all Sentinel show as the Spartans have been able to control bragging rights on the wrestling mat. The 2019 Garden City Classic may see a changing of the guard due to the rise of Eagle wrestling. Sentinel has had to deal with with injuries throughout the season and will be with out key wrestlers.
