Looking to finish out the regular season on a roll the Loyola Breakers basketball team played host to the Mission Lady Bulldogs and the Breakers finished the Lady Bulldogs off 67-44.
Loyola ran away from the tip knocking down a pair of buckets on the fast break, but Missions Afton Brander knocked down a three to try and stop the run. Both Breaker guards Sydney Koppang and Lani Walker went to work by driving the ball to the hoop, each scoring six points in the paint in the opening quarter. Mission was able to work their game plan in the second quarter by feeding the ball into the paint to Addison Arlint who was able to score eight points.
Down 34-19 to start the third quarter Mission had the ball, but the Breakers snuffed out the in bound pass and scored on the fast break. As it was in the first half Loyola laid down the press early which forced the Lady Bulldogs to make mistakes and turn the ball over, giving the Breakers fast break opportunities. Up 19 points to start the final frame Loyola put the pedal to the floor scoring 15 points to ran away from Mission and seal the win.
