The Stevensville Yellowjackets made their way to Rollin field Tuesday afternoon to play the Loyola Breakers and Rams in a game of soccer and the Breakers would get a 4-1 win on senior day.
The Breakers and the Lady Yellowjackets would draw the early game and Loyola jumped out to an 1-0 lead in the opening minutes. The Breakers would spend the rest of the first half on the Stevensville side of the field with the outside midfielders keeping up a heavy attack.
With the Breakers leading 1-0 at the half the Yellowjackets would come out to start the second half on the attack, putting a couple shots on goal in the opening minutes. The Breaker defense lead by Mckenna Round and Kenna Guenther would turn Stevensville around and put the pressure back on. Senior forward Tessa Burke would find the back of the net with 30:42 left in the game to give Loyola a 2-0 lead. The Yellowjackets would not go without a fight and with 28:10 left in the game Megan Pendergast would put the Yellowjackets in the game with a shot from the top of the box.
The scoring would continue with 26:22 left in the game when Loyola Breaker midfielder Cecily Benson would put a ball by the Stevensville keeper to put the Breakers up 3-1. With 23:22 Tessa Burke would receive a cross from Syd Koppang and placed the ball in the net to give Loyola a commanding lead of 4-1.
The Breakers will try to ride the momentum of Tuesday afternoons win against the Frenchtown Broncs Thursday in Frenchtown.
