The Glacier Lady Wolfpack braved the blistering conditions Tuesday night for a Class AA Western Conference game against the Sentinel Lady Spartans and stole the show with a buzzer beater to win 41-39 over Sentinel.

In early February the Lady Spartans handed Glacier a 49-30 loss in Kalispell, and the Lady Wolfpack looked to revenge that win. The two teams swapped the lead on opposite possessions through the opening frame, but the Lady Wolfpack took the first quarter 10-9. The Spartans settled in in the second quarter and out scored Glacier 13-9 on the hot hand of Shelby Schweyen who dropped seven points.

With a 22-19 lead to start the second half Sentinel charged out to a five point lead, but Glacier quickly fought their way back in to the contest with Kali Gulick going 2-3 from the three point line in the third quarter. Whittling away at the small Sentinel lead the Lady Wolfpack began to turn the momentum in their favor and regained the lead with just over three minutes left in the game.

Glacier held Sentinel at bay for the final minute of the game, holding a two point lead despite Sentinel finding their way to the free throw line. Finally with 18 seconds left on the clock the Lady Spartans tied the game up at 39 a piece. The Lady Wolfpack raced down the court and rotated the ball around the perimeter while the clock ticked until Anna Schrade drove into the key and tossed the ball at the hoop as she went down, knocking down a desperation shot as buzzer sounded to steal the win.

Sentinel will finish out their season on the road Saturday against the Flathead Braves before preparing for the Class AA Divisional tournament in Helena March 1-3.
