Class AA State Football Championship Game

There is only one MHSA prep football championship game going on under the lights tonight with the 2018 Class AA football championship game is going down in Billings as the West Golden Bears host the Flathead Braves.

Flathead comes into this years championship game ridding back to back wins in the playoffs after dropping their last game of the regular season to the Helena Bengals. The Braves pack a one two punch on the offense as their quarterback has the field vision to know when to tuck the ball and run, and a running back that is shifty and strong. In their postseason run the Braves have knocked off two of the top Class AA teams in the past 10 years in the two time defending champion Senior Broncs, and the vaunted Bozeman Hawks

In the September 7th game where West doubled up on Flathead with a 42-20 victory in Kalispell, the Golden Bears used their stifling offense to keep the Braves running game off the field. West has used their offense to control games all season long by keeping their opponent’s offense on the sidelines and tiring out defenses. The Golden Bears have averaged 35 points per game while holding other teams to an average of 20 points per game, including a shutout over the Helena Bengals last week.
