For the second straight season the MHSA Class AA schools will participate in a divisional tournament for boys and girls basketball with this years tournaments being played in Kalispell.
AA Girls Western Division
Helena sits at the top of Class AA girls basketball in Western Montana with an 11-1 record, giving the Lady Bengals a bye until Thursday afternoon. Capital high school takes the number two spot in the west with a 10-2 record, with the Lady Bruins facing the seventh seeded Big Sky Lady Eagles on Thursday night at 6:30 pm.
Host team Glacier took the third seed in the west with an 8-4 record and the Lady Wolfpack will take on their crosstown nemesis and sixth ranked Flathead Bravettes Thursday afternoon. Finishing out the top four in the tournament is Hellgate who will get to take on their crosstown rival the fifth ranked Sentinel Lady Spartans to open the tournament Thursday.
AA Boys Western Division
Dominating all of Class AA boys basketball are the Hellgate Knights who rolled through the season undefeated to earn themselves a bye on Thursday. Locking down the second seed in the west are the 10-2 Sentinel Spartans will face their crosstown foe in the seventh seeded Big Sky Eagles to cap off the first day in Kalispell.
With a drop off between second and third from a wins and loss stand point the Capital Bruins hold down the the third spot with a 7-5 record to earn a game against sixth seeded Flathead Braves. Filling in the fourth spot in the west is Helena high who go in to the tournament with a 5-7 record and play the host team Glacier Wolfpack who pulled the sixth seed in the west.
