Class B Western Divisional

The 2018 Divisional Tournaments are set for Class B boy’s and girl’s basketball and the Loyola Rams and Breakers will have their play this Thursday through Saturday in Ronan.

The Loyola Breakers landed the number two spot in the Class 6B District with an 11-5 overall record, and 6-2 in 6B basketball. Loyola is lead by the crafty and tenacious Tessa Burke who has accumulated over 1,400 points as a Breaker. The Breakers have an experienced senior class in Burke, Kenna Guenther, and Kylie Esh, not to mention the talented Sydney Koppang and an athletic Sam Clevenger. With a star studded starting five the Breakers  have a bench full of impact players that could give them a chance to finish as one of the two teams to advance to the state tournament from the girls side.

The Rams sit at the top of the Class 6B District, narrowly escaping being knocked off by Anaconda in their final conference game last Tuesday night in the Snack Pit. Loyola is lead by a youthful Jacob Hollenback who plays hard nosed basketball, yet has the maturity to set up his teammates for the easy bucket. The senior class for the Rams is an all-star cast in Future Grizzly football player David Koppang and Montana State Bobcat tight end Joey McElroy, who combine for a stingy paint defense, and the ice cold Scott Twite who has no fear on the court. The key to the Rams success is the play of junior Jack Lincoln who is smooth to the basket and clutch on the boards.

The two teams will tip off their Divisional tournament Thursday afternoon in Ronan.
