Spartan Wrestling Begins 2018 Season

The Sentinel Spartans will brave the weather and head to Bozeman today to take on the Hawks to begin the 2018 portion of their season.

The Spartans finished the 2016-2017 10th at the MHSA State Wrestling Tournament in Billings. three spots behind the Big Sky/Loyola program and four places ahead of the Hellgate Knights. Sentinel started the 2017 portion of their season with wins over the Capital Bruins, Glacier Wolfpack, and tight victory over the Polson Pirates. The Spartans have grueling schedule this season, but have the man power to make them a threat in the postseason.

Sentinel is lead by an All-Star cast in junior Reece Eckely who wrestles at 132 with a 16-4 record , junior Beau King wrestling at the 138 level with a 15-4 record, senior Cam Hegel participating at the 145 class with an 11-4 record, senior Dylan Goforth wrestling at the 182 class with an 12-8 record, and senior Tanner Stack at 285 with a 12-6 record. With a long holiday break the Spartans have had a chance to refocus and build on their success from December.

The Spartans and the Hawks will start mixing it up at 5:00 pm at the Bozeman high school.
