One of the final basketball games of 2018 went down in Missoula Saturday afternoon as the Sentinel Spartans finished out the non conference season on the hardwood against the Bozeman Hawks that resulted in a 53-36 win for the Hawks.
From the start the two Class AA powerhouses kept the game tight with stiff defense that resulted in the opening quarter finishing out at nine points a piece. Bozeman’s Ryan Lonergan led all scores at the mid game break with eight points to help give the Hawks a one point lead.
With Bozeman leading 20-19 to start the third quarter the teams settled into their half time adjustments and the Spartans fought to keep the game close against a quick Bozeman team. As the game moved into the final frame and the game continued to stay tight, tensions flared and the Hawks took advantage of the Spartans emotions by putting points on the board on turnovers, allowing Bozeman to edge out Sentinel.
