Minutes after the Valley Christian boys left the court for the final time this season, the Lady Eagles stepped on to the court to try and keep their season alive in a loser out match up against Lincoln and came away with a 49-41 win.
Playing confident basketball to finish the regular season the girls from Valley Christian had a chance to make a statement at the 13C District tournament but ran into a polished Darby team to open the tournament. As Valley Christian has done all season long, the Lady Eagles used the loss to Darby as a learning tool and came out on fire against the Lady Lynx.
Battling back and forth for the majority of the game Valley Christian emerged late in the third as the team with the momentum behind them. Going into the final quarter of the game Valley Christian slowed the temp of the game down to keep the advantage in their favor and worked the ball around the edges and waited for the high percentage shot. Forcing the Lady Lynx to foul the game became a contest at the charity stripe that gave the Lady Eagles the win.
Valley Christian will play Clark Fork at 5:00 pm for third place at the 13C District Tournament.
