The Missoula Mavericks would win in an authoritative manner today beating the Lethbridge Elks 16-1 in eight innings.
It would be a pair of late innings that would seal the deal for the Mavericks as they would earn six runs in both the seventh and eighth innings. The Mavericks would get help from a pair of veteran players in the eighth as Nick Yovetich would blast one over the wall that scored two runs, and then two batters later in the order Spencer Schock would knock one over the fence that brought in a run.
From the mound Dylan Chalmers would pitch a near perfect game to help Missoula pick up the win. Chalmers would pitch all eight innings allowing one run off five hits and struck out five batters in his time on the bump.
The Mavericks will take on the only other undefeated team in the tournament on Friday night. First pitch between the Helena Senators and the Mavericks is set for 7:00 pm in Bozeman.
