The Billings Royals American Legion baseball team and the Missoula Mavericks meet at Lindborg-Cregg Field Thursday night for the second game of their stand and the Mavericks picked their first conference win of the season in front of their home crowd.

The Mavs iron man struck out a total of five batters, while walking just one on the night in the seven innings he pitched.
From the plate the Mavericks where lead by their senior player, second baseman James Martin who went two for three, one of which was a lead off double, and earned a run. Brendon Hill added to the Missoula offense going one for three with a run, finishing the game one of three batters to average .333. Connor Daniels and Beau King ate into Tradd Richardson’s commanding RBI total at 24, with King and Daniels earning one a piece.
The Mavericks go 1-3 in conference play and will enjoy their last weekend free before welcoming the Great Falls Chargers on Monday for a three game series.
