Mavericks Take Game 1

The Missoula Mavericks would kick off the Montana/Alberta State Tournament with a 6-2 win over the Great Falls Chargers today.
In the nine inning tournament game both starting pitchers would have to be pulled in the ninth inning due to hitting the 120 pitch mark, and neither pitcher can stand on the mound until Sunday. Dylan Barkley would be credited with the win for the Mavericks allowing two runs off seven hits while striking out 10 batters, and walking one in the eight innings he pitched.
Missoula would earn their six runs off 10 hits while leaving six runners on base. Spencer Schock and Drew Leonard would lead all batters for the Mavericks, both going 3-4 at the plate, with a run and an RBI.
The Mavericks will play at 4:00 pm Thursday, and face the winner of the Lethbridge Elks versus Billings Royals game at 4:00 pm today.
