For the second day in a row the Missoula Mavericks hosted the Great Falls Chargers, with Tuesday being a doubleheader between the two teams, and the Mavericks would sweep the three game series with a 3-1 win in game one, and a 4-3 win the second game after beating Great Falls 9-6 on Monday night.
In the first game the Mavericks would throw their ace pitcher Dylan Chalmers at the Chargers and Chalmers would stifle Great Falls in all seven innings he stood on the hill. In all Chalmers would allow one run off six hits, walked a single batter, and struck out two to pick up his fourth win of the season. For the Chargers Nolan Croskey stone walled the Mavs through the first four innings, but Croskey would start to slow down and the Mavericks picked up all three runs in the fifth inning to seal the win over Chargers.
Game two on the doubleheader was more of the same from the Mavs as Brendon Hill threw a polished game from the bump against Great Falls to hold the Chargers off until the fifth when the Great Falls earned two. In all Hill would allow three runs off six hits in the seven innings he stood on the mound, earning his fourth win of the season. From the dish Tradd Richardson continued on his RBI run earning two off a single, Richardson finished the game to lead the Mavs going 1-4 with a run, and Brendan Buchanan had a good night at the plate for Missoula, going 2-4 with an RBI.
The Mavericks will hit the road this week as they head to Lewiston Idaho for a four game tournament that starts on Thursday when the Mavs play the Southridge Bandits.
